A bit more Indigo & Ivy! Philippa McCray
Hi there Magpies
I’m back with you today sharing two more 12×12 layouts using the Indigo & Ivy collection by Pink Paislee. The very name of the collection is a clue to the colour palette but I wanted to try something different!
I’ve been away soaking up the sun in Tuscany and I took so many photos it was hard deciding which ones to use! For my first layout I chose to document the end of a magical day spent up in the hills near the medieval town of Roccatederighi where the backdrop is lush green!

I chose Paper 7 for my background and using a palette knife I spread a thin layer of Dancing Clouds (white) mixed with some Forest Green from the Paper Fashion Gouache set by American Crafts. I then added some texture in the form of stencil paste applied through a topical stencil. Finally some water colour splashes in yellow.
I punched some circles from Paper 3 and Paper 4 cut them in half and used them to add interest to my border by machine stitching in place. I mounted my photo on Paper 4 and used ‘good times’ from the Ephemera Die cut pack along with alphas to create my title.

I used a die to cut some green branches and added a sprig of olive I had picked and dried. I wanted to echo the red of Flo’s top so cut another branch in red and used a length of red and white gingham ribbon in the tag along with some red threads.
I love the die cut chipboard words and phrases and added a few to my layout. I tucked in a card from the restaurant where we all ate that evening. By adding unique bits and pieces of ephemera I think it makes a layout very personal.
For my second layout I reverted to the Indigo colour way and chose three photos where our clothes matched!

I used plain cardstock for my background but added a light wash in shades of blue and pink watercolour with a few splatters. I mounted my photos on pieces cut from Paper 9 and added strips from the same paper along the top and bottom edges. I die cut the flowers from offcuts on my desk and used cardstock stickers sequins and tiny hearts from the mixed embellishment pack

I used Paper 11as a mount for my layout.
I have loved using this collection, some of the products I have used are currently out of stock but hopefully they will be restocked soon. I’ll be back next month when I’ll be showcasing something different! Until then, Happy Scrapping!
