4×4 mini album – Carta Bella – Happy Christmas | Jackie Ashton
Hi Crafters, Jackie back with a 4×4 mini album using Carta Bella – Happy Christmas collection.
During the Christmas break my son and I visited Chatsworth House and Garden, which was all decorated for the Christmas season. I wanted to create an album with some of the photographs, but didn’t want a 6×8 one, so I opted for the 4×4 album size instead.
I decorated the front of the album with patterned paper, machine stitched around a die cut circle and embellishments from the collection. I also included a JD3D print ‘Christmas 2021’ and gold stars.
I’ve used the Cork December 2021 from Elle’s Studio, I die cut a circle from patterned paper and machine stitched around the edges, adding a phase stickers from the Sticker Book.
2×2 divided page – I’ve added sequins to two of the pockets and machined stitched them closed, and added embellishments to the other two pockets.
Hidden tags – I die cuts a few tags using Elle’s Studio Tag Metal Die and machined stitched around the edges, and add some embellishments to the front and the back and slipped them inside a few of the pockets.
Flip up – to make this flip up. I measured some patterned paper 8” x 4” – and scored 4” and 4 ¼” – having these two score lines allowed flap to sit nicely in the pocket, then I trimmed one edge to look like a tag and added some ribbon. I decorated the inside with stickers, phase stickers and cut down a journaling tag from Elle’s Studio to add some journaling.
Maze – pull out – we went for a walk around the gardens, and found the maze, we haven’t visited this area for years, so it was great fun trying to find our way to the middle, but even funnier trying to get back out at the end.
The base measures 5” x 4” and I’ve scored down one edge and hole punched, so that it can fit into the album outside the pocket pages.
I cut a 12″ x 4″ piece from the 3×4 journalling cards – I used 3 together, and then scored in between so that it became a concertina fold out. I added some ribbon so that I can tie it closed.
This was then struck to the base card, and I added photographs of us being in the middle of the maze. On the reverse I’ve added another Elle’s Studio Journaling Tag – which I trimmed down to fit, and a chipboard piece.
Afternoon Tea
For this pull out I used 12×4 patterned paper, scored it at 4½”, 2½”, 2 ½”and 2 ½”.
I made a slit to the left side of the patterned paper so that the ribbon can be easily tied together.
I decorated this pull out with photographs of us enjoying Afternoon Tea, using stickers from the Sticker book and a chipboard piece.
On the front I added a tag from the bits and pieces pack.
6×4 photo pull out – patterned paper measures 6 ½” x 4 – hole punched so that it fits outside the page protector, added my 6×4 photograph and then scored down the right side – 2″ from the right edge- so that it would fits into my album. When the flip out closes, I’ve added a chipboard piece to the front.
You can see more of my album on my IG account over the coming days – JackieScraps – as they are mainly just photographs.
Don’t forget to share your crafting project over on our Facebook Group, we would love to see them.
