49 & Market – Vintage Artistry Everywhere | Scarborough Harbour

Hello Magpies, Amy here today sharing with you a layout using 49 & Market’s Artistry Vintage Everywhere collection. As the name may suggest, this is a travel themed layout. Its very unique and I absolutely love it!

Scarborough Harbour

I started my layout by creating a mixed media background on to good quality thick white smooth cardstock.

I started by using a permanent navy ink with the stamp called Classic Cruiser by AALL & Create. I stamped the large stamp horizontally, to the left upper side. I then added the smaller stamp above this to the right hand side of my page.

Next I used plenty of water with the Tim Holtz Brushstrokes stamps to apply Distress Oxide in Peeled Paint and Mustard Seed. Because the stamped images were created using permanent ink, they were not smudged of affected by the water and ink layers that I added onto the stamped images. Once this was dry I used the Tim Holtz stencil called “Mesh“, which reminded me of a fishing net, with Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide ink and an inking brush. I randomly applied all the colours to areas of my background.

To the background I then selected some of the rub ons from the Everywhere collection. I especially picked out the one from the sheet with an image of the boat because I thought this was a good fit to my harbour photos.

I layered from of the ephemera under one of my photos, and then added them to the layout. I had fun adding lots of the little washi stickers around the photos too. I then added a phrase/word die cut to each photo as well.

I cut one of the laser cut circular web pieces from hey Little Magpie in half and added them to my layout as well. I added my title and the date in mini puffy alphabet stickers by Doodlebug Designs. These are my current ‘go to’ alphas!

Lastly I added this ‘amazing’ canvas flair, made by Hey Little Magpie, to the top right of my page, layering it on top of some teal thread.
