49 and Market | Vintage Artistry In the Leaves | Giselle Homer

Hi Magpies,

Spring is here & I’m sharing an autumn layout! But, I couldn’t resist this range of papers, they’re relatively new editions to the shop & immediately caught my eye. They’re like beautifully painted watercolours which I love & sometimes try to do myself.

COOL & CRISP Autumn Days

I started this layout with cream coloured cardstock to which I added some mixed media. I used stencilling, stamping & paint splashes to the centre of the page.

Once that dried I added a vertical panel, with distressed edges, to the centre of the page using the plain side of the Autumnal paper. I knew I was going to add a lot of detail so I kept this relatively plain. I distressed another smaller panel of  Harvest paper to back the photos & then glued everything into place. There are some snippets of dictionary definitions in the rub-ons so I added one to the top left corner.

There are a some ready made title die cuts in the collection & I chose one that worked with my photos. It didn’t stand out too well on it’s own, so I backed it with orange paper taken from a large ephemera piece. I added some beautiful rub-on leaves & flowers to the right of the panel. These aren’t available at the moment but check out the other lovely rub-ons from 49 and Market collections.

Then I chose some floral & mushroom rub-ons to add to the left to highlight the red hoodie in the photo.

To add a finishing touch I used some stitch design rub-ons across the lower edge of the dark yellow panel.

If you want to see ‘In The Leaves’ in more detail it’s still available in the shop, I’m definitely going to explore the other 49 and Market collections! I’ll be sharing another layout later in the month, till then, happy scrapping everyone!
