49 and Market | Colour Swatch Ocean | Part 3 | Giselle Homer

Today I’m sharing my third layout using ‘Colour Swatch – Ocean’, from 49 & Market.
As I mentioned before these ‘mini’ collections are a perfect addition to your stash, especially when you’re looking for that little extra piece of ephemera to add a spark to your layout!
YOU MAKE THE SUN SHINE
I began this page by using a piece of 12” x 12” paper from the collection as I couldn’t resist the beautiful water colour flowers printed on either side.
The photo measures approximately 3” x 4” & I backed it with quite a few layers to build up the focus. This helped the photo to become more visible on the patterned background paper. I also drew a border around the photo using a black fine liner pen.
Next, I chose some rub-on transfer phrases which I placed above the photo & also horizontally along the left edge. These are such useful additions to your scrappy stash & add an area of interest without being too prominent.
On the left I added a torn note book trim from the ephemera pack, with a laser cut leaf sprig in the top corner. And a strip of ‘paper lace’ behind all the layers.
Below the photo I placed a laser-cut ribbon ‘wrap’ with a plain tag over it. I glued the title to that which I got from the ephemera pack.
And that finished off my layout. With such a gently patterned background this page came together quite quickly. If you haven’t tried any of the Colour Swatch collections, check them out in the shop!
