49 and Market | Colour Swatch Grove | Part Two | Giselle Homer
Hello Magpies,
For my second page this month I used the Colour Swatch Grove collection from 49 & Market, which is from their smaller editions & features soft green & grey colours. It partners up with lots of their main collections so it’s handy to have in reserve.
LOVE THIS PHOTO
I began by ‘smooching’ some Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink onto a piece of white cardstock. I did this by applying ink to a stamping block, spraying it with water & gently spreading the ink randomly in the centre of the page. Then, using the same ink, I stencilled some little dots here & there.
Next I placed my photo, which measures 3″ x 4″, just below the centre. Then I chose a few strips of patterned paper & die cut pieces which I glued into place on the right. I also added a thin strip of PET tape for contrast.
On the left side I tucked 2 torn pieces of patterned paper behind the edge of the photo with a doily, paper bow, 2 die cut butterflies & a heart. To break up the corner I placed a leaf sprig die cut. From my own stash, I added a grey chipboard circle.
On the right of the photo I placed my title, which is from my own stash & added a couple of sticker words to complete it. I tucked another die cut leaf sprig under the edge of the photo.
Finally I decided to add a hand drawn heart shape around the outside of the design. I did this using a green fine liner pen, using a template top trace around. That ‘held’ all the elements together & finished off the page.
I’ll have one more layout to share before Christmas, until then, happy scrapping everyone!
