49 and Market Charcoal | Julie Taylor

Julie back with you again today sharing 2 layouts!!! yes two!! I’m using 49 and Markets Charcoal collection & wanted to show the versatility of it. The collection is all lovely grey tones, going from almost black to very light grey & has all the gorgeous bits that 49 and Market add into their collections, laser cuts, rub ons, beautiful patterned papers & acetate.

My first layout I concentrated solely on the collection itself, adding a lighter circle, which I stitched around & came down from that with my photo & layers & added flowers coming out bottom right & another cluster, top left, to balance the page out.

I love all the different tones & think it gives a dramatic look especially with a black & white photo.

For my second layout I wanted to show this collection adding colour to it!! I made a MM background by brayering on some Hickory Smoke oxide ink, stencilling around the edge & adding some rub ons, this gave me a base for my photo clusters.

I added the colour by using 49 and Market Spectrum Gardenia, a lovely collection with lots of bright colours.

I started with a central column, using a acetate film die, paper strips & trims. I added some of the fabric tape to cardstock & hand cut a scalloped border to add in.
