49 and Market | Botanical Buzz | Giselle Homer

Hello Magpies,

This month I’m using Botanical Buzz, a beautiful collection designed by Dennis Bruton, for 49 & Market.  As the name suggests it’s full of summer colours, timeless embellishments, little bees & well designed papers.

 

A MOMENT TO REMEMBER

A feature of this collection is the hexagon ephemera, there’s lots to choose from, in many sizes & colours.  I began this page by choosing three of the larger hexagons  on which to begin my design. The largest one on the right & the two smaller ones to the left. I used the back of the ‘Cheerful’ paper as my base.

 

The largest hexagon frames my photo, at 5″ wide & I backfilled the other two with patterned paper & rub-on transfers.

 

Next, I chose some floral & leafy die cuts to add to the right of the photo. There’s a long fence die-cut in this collection which I trimmed to place on either side of the layout. Then I added a rub-on phrase to the top of the hexagon. I love the way that you can pop these little sayings here & there to enhance the design of the page.

 

On the left I added more embellishments including this lamp post which added a little height to the layout’s design.

 

Lastly, I chose a title from the chipboard pack & fitted it in below the photo. The little bee hive house was a cute addition & I also cut some tiny hexagons to add to the background paper for some extra dimension.

 

This is a lovely collection, it’s a joy to work with & I’ll have another layout to share later in the month, Until then, happy scrapping everyone!
