2015 A Year In Review

Hello Everyone and welcome to my first blog post of 2016.  I hope everyone had a great holiday season and new year and that you are now transitioning in to getting back to some sense of normality.  I enjoy at this time of the year at trying to draw a line under all the projects that I had started the previous year.  I work on Project Life throughout the year and like to always finish my albums with a few review pages as a way to round out the year.  I shared a similar idea in one of my pages on my blog post last January as well, you can find it in this Blog Post.
For my pages this month I will be using the Basic Grey Sunkissed Collection Pack.  I really like how you have the bright reds and pinks as well as the teals and greys in this collection.  As always the B-sides of the Basic Grey papers are fab neutrals and they make great page mats and are great for die cutting.
So one of my aims as I mentioned in my last post was to use my Silhouette Cameo more so I set about planning 3 projects with it this month.  I wanted to carry on my tradition of doing a ‘Hair Review’ page this year and decided to use my Silhouette software to help me document the 24 photos that I wanted to use.  I have explained and shown in my first video for these blog post the process on how I re-sized my photos in order to fill my die-cut, I hope this will be helpful for some of you.  The video can be found HERE, I also will be sharing videos for the other 2 pages too, as well as having nearly 300 other process videos for you to watch.  You can find all videos from my blog posts in a dedicated playlist, HERE.

So for my traditional Hair Review pages I picked the bright and bold Wildflower papers as my background, I love all the colours and it works with balancing out the large photo collage.  I kept my embellishments pretty simple and use pieces from the cut a part sheet and sticker sheets to create a small cluster.

I love the Basic Grey Alpha  sticker sheets that come with their collections that include 3 different size alphas, they fit perfectly in the middle of my negative die cuts.

For my second page I want to share with you how I documented one of my goals for 2015 which was my reading goal.  I again created a large photo cluster using my photo editing software which included 64 photos.  I used the Cadence paper for my background which worked perfectly with the theme of this page.

I again used simple embellishment on this pages as the photos took up so much real estate.  I again used the cut-a-part sheet to create simple layers under my title.

For the large die cut I used the b-side of the Fresh paper and added some stamping over the top to create some texture on the page.

The last page that I want to share with you this month I went a little embellishment crazy, as their are so many stickers on the sheets included in the collection packs.  This page is a year in review and choosing a picture to represent each month.

I again used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the frames out for the Solstice paper these acted as my base for building up my micro clusters around each photo.

Again the alphas in this collection worked really well on this page and I was able to use all 3 fonts on here.  The small yellow tile stickers match perfectly with the papers and help to tie it all together.

I really love all the little elements on the page and how it all came together in the end, and that bright yellow is just too cheerful.
I hope that I have given you some different ideas on to how you can create wrap up pages to finish your albums up for 2015, you could also use these ideas to summaries events or trips as well.  I am happy to be getting more use out of my Silhouette Cameo and to be documenting so many photos on my pages, lets hope it continues this year.
I am really looking forward to seeing all the new CHA goodies coming in to the shops in the coming months and to making more memories for me to use all these beautiful supplies to document them with.  Have a wonderful start to 2016 and see you next month.
