Celebrating Family with Jen Hadfield's Heart at Home

Hi it’s Nancy here with my September blog post, I hope everyone had a great summer and took lots of photos.  We are now heading in to my favourite season Autumn.  This time a year ago I shared on the blog layouts made with Jen Hadfield collection Warm and Cozy. A year later I am here to share with you layouts made with her latest collection Heart of Home.
Her collection always feature lots of woodgrain and rich earthy tones, and this collection was no different.  This one is more themed around family, but features beautiful floral prints as well as the brilliant cut a part sheets that are in every collection.  They also have great sentiments for cards in the paper pads and on the sticker sheets.
I wanted to use a lot of the family themed embellishments and had some photos from a recent family birthday celebration that would work perfectly.  In her Warm and Cozy collection their was a wonderful die cut wood slice papers, their is one in this collection too, but it is even better as its gold foiled.

I used this as the bases for my first page.  I cut the lovely wood slice piece in half so I could spread over more than one page.  I also kept my embellishments to a minimum as I wanted to let the foil really shine.

The collection come with two great script alphas, I used the gold glitter pieces to create my titles.  The ephemera comes with these cute houses which I though added to the family theme, despite it not being about my home.

For my second page I picked this tree print paper for my background, it would work great to capture multiple photos and use it as a family tree layout.

I added ink splatters and stitching to the background to build my clusters on top of.  I fussy cut some of the images from the cut a part cards to make my main cluster.  I finished this layout with another of the gold titles.

I am still to journal on these layouts,  it I tested under the photos and a white uni ball gel pens shows up fine, so I can write directly on the background.

For my third layout I want to share with you this month, I created a graphic style page.  I used the letterboard effect paper which is in this collection, they also do a letterboard style thicker alphas, which would have worked  great on this page.

I wanted to use some of the tags in this collection, and they worked great with these photos.  The pink tag shows the pink that runs through this collection, and works brilliantly with the woodgrain in my opinion.

I matted my photos on some more pink to pick this out and added embellishment to two of the tags using piece from the die cut pack.  I also added some texture to the page using the grey transparent Nuvo drops, which add a great shine, and complemented the gold glitter.
I have really enjoyed creating with this collection and think it will work great with her past collections, if you still have bits in your stash.  Their is many themes of pages that this collection would work with too, not just family.
I hope you all have a great September and I will see you all in October.
