Feeling the Love

Hello everyone I hope most of you have been able to enjoy some crafting time and have been creating memories ready to scrapbook.  I had a wonderful June with a crafting mini-break with some of the Hey Little Magpie Team, lots of fun photos were taken, which I am sure will be appearing on a scrapbook page near to you soon.
This month I decided to revisit an older collection, Heart Day by Crate Paper.  I love the colours of this collection and although it is a Valentine’s theme collection it can work for lots of other occasions or themes of scrapbooking pages.  I teamed this with the Fancy Pants Sweet Nothings Valentine collection.
Items used:
Crate Paper and Embellishments – Heart Day
Fancy Pants Designs – Sweet Nothings
Vicki Boutin- Labels
Dewdrops, Gems
I have 3 different pages to share with you this month, the first one is a simple page, which is going to go in with a series of photos so I don’t need a title a such, just a place to journal in the context of the other pages.

I used the chipboard love banner piece as one of the main elements of my page.  I struggle to use banners on my pages, as I feel they need to be connected at both ends. I used it at this angle on this page and I feel happier as it is more anchored.

I used a selection of the pieces from the Sweet Nothings and Heart Day cut apart sheet to create a cluster to put my journaling on, and also to continue the banner theme.  I used some more gold elements from the chipboard sheet and some puffy heart stickers and clear dewdrops to add a further bit of embellishment.  I used some water colour on a watercolour word to bring in a further pop of pink.

For my second page, I used one of my favourite page designs for scrapping 3 photos, you will have seen this a lot from me.  I like how it offer the perfect spot journaling or a cluster of embellishments.  I framed my line of photos with a strip of paper from the Heart Day collection to help ground everything.  I used a journaling card from Sweet Nothings to base my cluster.

I then picked out the cactus pieces from the Heart Day collection.  Cactus’s and love are not two things that I think go together really, but I made it work for this page.  I used another label from the Vicki Boutin set for my title as well as an acrylic piece from my stash.  I enjoyed using a variety of different pinks on this page, mixed with that bright green.

I finished off my cluster with a few little sparkly gems which never go amiss on a page.  I love using these one from the shop, and they come in a great mix of colours.

For my finial page to share with you, I wanted to make a page in this series that would be the first page in this part of my album.  Last month I got my first lot of the dewdrops and I really enjoyed the texture they add to the page, so I decided I wanted to play with more.  They come in some great colours and matched the collections I was using brilliantly.
I used a spare piece of paper in order to cut out a heart shape, I did not worry about this being perfect, but of course you could use your silhouette or other cutting machine to make your template.  I then used the dewdrops to line up around the shape and create my outline, in the 3 different colours. This did add weight to the page, so I mounted my background paper on top of a piece of card stock to give it some more stability.

I kept my embellishment cluster pretty simple on this piece, and use the chipboard pieces from the Heart Day collection.  I kept these mostly monochrome so the dewdrops would really pop.

I added a sprinkle of gold mist to the background and a few heart stickers from Fancy Pants, Bella Blvd and MAMBI.
I have really enjoyed revisiting this collection this month, and it worked great for this series of photos.  As always you can see my process of making these pages over on my YouTube channel.
Remember to visit the Chat and Inspiration Facebook group and share some of your pages using older collections in your stash, or some Love themed pages you have made, even if that is your love of cactus!
Have a fab crafty month and see you in August.
