Bringing Joy (Parade) on a grey day

Hi Magpies, Julie back with you again today & let me start by wishing you a Happy New Year, hope it’s a good one for you all, with lots of crafting.
This month I wanted to scrap with a bright, colourful line, as the days are all grey & overcast so I couldn’t believe my luck when I saw the new collection from Fancy Pants Designs ‘Joy Parade’, lots of yellow, orange, pinks, turquoise, green with the odd pop of black, great for making those grey days brighter.
My first layout ‘Enjoy, Awesome, Eat Cake’ is using a photo of my 50th birthday cake from a couple of years ago. This collection has a great pack of decorative tags that I decided to use on this page. I first layered a few of the papers, happy to be free, both sides & wrap it up paper & sewed bits of them down. I then added lots of tags & a few die cuts, layering them up in a cluster, towards the left, adding stitching to some of them. I added 1 flair badge from the collection & 2 exclusive hey little magpie flair. The title is made up with a word from the puffy sentiments stickers & a couple of die cuts from the ephemera pack, a few puffy arrows & a splatter of mist finishes the page.

For my second layout I wanted some ink runs on my cardstock so got out my watercolours & added some to the page & then blew through a straw to get it to run. I added the cardstock, at an angle, to the love pretty garlands paper & sewed it along the edges. I also sewed a couple of messy circles, 1 top left & the other bottom right, to add my photos & embellishment clusters into. I layered my photos on papers from the 6×6 paper pad & added bits from the tag pack & die cut pack, tucking them in & around the photos. The title is again from the puffy sentiments stickers which curved beautifully around my stitched circle & just needed finishing with some letters from the puffy alphabet stickers.

My final layout ‘ Live a Colourful Life’ is definitely an explosion of colour. I got the title from one of the tags & that got me thinking of creating a page full of colour so out came my watercolours, inks & stamps. I think I used almost every ink I have on this page, just splattering them all on, I had great fun. I again added my cardstock at an angle to the laugh out loud paper & stitched it down in places. I then proceeded to add all manor of die cuts, puffy stickers, punched circles, flair & that fab turquoise bow, it’s an exclusive bow planner bookmark but I just loved it & thought it added a great focal point on my page.
