Favorite collections 2016

Hi!

This year is soon over and I felt that I wanted to make a blog post about my favorite collections and some of my best purchases! Of course I have loved everything from Maggie Holmes and Crate Paper… but there are more nice collections and great products out there!

Hello!

First, take a look at this layout! Woodgrain… I loooooove woodgrain as background for my layouts. This paper is from my favorite collection ever from Simple Stories – Sna@p Basics! And I can’t understand how it still can be papers left in the shop! Crazy!
The title for this page and the pretty black paper with florals are from Dear Lizzy – Saturday. I really like to have some phrase thickers in my stash for all those layouts you don’t really have a title for… Hello Multicolor Chipboard Phrase Thickers. The rest of the decorations are mostly from Maggie Holmes and WRMK – Crush. The mixed embellishment pack is one of my absolute best buys this year! 2016 has been a wood button year for me! And I think I will hold on to them for next year too.

Little sweet baby

Yepp… 2017 will be a new year with a a new little someone! We’re having another baby!
Here is a layout with the first photo. At the time we didn’t know whether it was a boy or a girl (now we know!). To have a matching boy and girl collection is perfect for layouts like this! 😀 Thank you Crate Paper! I matched it with some Maggie Holmes and some woodgrain from Simple Stories. For next year I’m hoping they will have a collection with other great background papers. Like newspaper prints or maps…

Never stop Exploring

When Crate Paper released a separate girl and boy collection I was a bit annoyed. I always want everything, and don’t care if it’s boyish or girly. So… I bought most of it. I liked Cool Kid more than Cute girl. And the paper I used as a background for this page is an absolute favorite! Really love all the blues and the greens. I think you absolutely can use blues and greens for layouts about girls. It just depend on what story you want to tell. On this photo we where away on an adventure, far away in the Swedish woods. Stella got to try wild raspberries and blueberries. The weather was cold, hence the knitted cardigan… a typical blue colored Swedish summer! 😀
I sneaked in some Maggie Holmes in this layout too. Can’t keep my hands of of her collections! 😀

So… I always say this but… my tip for all of you is to find your style! And find it again next year! You don’t need to have the exact same style year after year. 2016 has been the year when I fell in love with woodgrain as a background, fell in love with wood buttons and also started to use flairs!
I think gold will be as popular as ever for 2017. Puffy stickers and wood buttons will stay. As well as washi tapes and flairs. Cork embellishments are coming back! And we will see more keys and bees!
Happy new year!
XOXO
