Hooray by My Mind's Eye!

My Mind's Eye - Hooray
One of the big releases I’ve been looking forward to this past month or so has been the brand new Hooray collection from My Mind’s Eye, so I couldn’t wait to grab it as soon as it came into the store here.
It features everything I love at the moment in papercrafting – plenty of versatile designs that can be used for different occasions, bright and cheery colours, stripes and polka dots galore, a fab set of journaling cards that are perfect for cardmaking as well as scrapping, great ephemera and embellishments, and a really great 6×6 pad with the paper patterns scaled down just right for card projects. 🙂
A real must-have collection for my wish list!
Here are the items that I used for my projects today:

I’ve mainly used the 6×6 pad for these cards, but some of the 12×12 designs work really well for larger card formats like 5×7 and when you want a bolder background.

My Mind's Eye - Hooray - Hooray cardOne of my favourite designs in this collection is the diagonal stripe in these awesome colours! Alas it’s only in the 6×6 pad, if they’d have made a 12×12 sheet of it I’d have bought it in bulk, that’s for sure!

The sticker sheet for this collection, which is included in the collection kit, has this fun banner and cake – and the little rose gold stars which I added here and there.
My Mind's Eye - Hooray - Treat yourself cardI really went to town with this card  – as soon as I saw that journaling card I knew I had to use it. Seriously if you’re a fan of Parks and Rec then how could you not? Tom and Donna’s “Treat yo’ self!” mantra is one I am sure many a crafter is familiar with. It’s a 5×7 card so I used 12×12 papers to create the background plus lots of ephemera and stickers.

My Mind's Eye - Hooray - Party cardI used another 12×12 sheet for the background to this card. The other elements are all from the die-cut ephemera pack plus a couple of strips of paper from the 6×6 pad and another star sticker.
My Mind's Eye - Hooray - Party card - detailThese circles are from the die-cut pack as well – I scored them in half before gluing them down so they pop out from the background. I love the pops of gold foil on the party hat and polka dot paper.
My Mind's Eye - Hooray - Blow out the candles cardThe ephemera pack also features some cute tag elements. They make it so easy to put a card together.

My Mind's Eye - Hooray - Fun times cardThis collection also includes a set of decorative tags that can be used for gifts as well as craft projects. I layered up various papers from the 6×6 pad here and used one of the long tags as a mat for the greeting from the die-cuts pack.

My Mind's Eye - Hooray - Happy birthday to you cardIt was back to the ephemera pack for this card. I used a journaling card as the main background to the greeting and built the rest of the card around it with left-over strips of paper from the 6×6 pad.
My Mind's Eye - Hooray - Happy birthday to you card - detailI added more rose gold accents to compliment the greeting.
My Mind's Eye - Hooray - Thank you cardAnd with all those birthday cards it’s nice to see there’s also a “Thank you!” greeting included in the die-cuts pack.
My Mind's Eye - Hooray - Thank you card - detail I teamed it up with banners from the same pack and for a nice and simple background used the lovely Party Time 12×12 paper.
And finally, I made a little notelet card using a journaling card as background paper:
My Mind's Eye - Hooray - Hello cardAnd another decorative tag as the background to my greeting.

Well that’s it for this month! It’s been very fun playing with this collection – so many lovely accents that can be used in lots of projects and the journaling cards can make for a very quick birthday card if you’re in urgent need of a card for someone. 🙂
Until next time, happy crafting!
